Dear Reader,
Whenever you pass the stately, stunningly beautiful Adams Free Library, are you, like us, filled with pride?
The Adams Free Library is clearly more than a home for books (although we are grateful that it is so); it is the beating heart of our community! It is a welcoming place for all who walk through its doors, where you can settle into a comfortable chair and read the newspaper or work away on a computer. It is a center for information and, by housing the Adams Historical Society and partnering with it, for historical inquiry and preservation. It is a programming venue, where you can learn a new language, produce a work of art, play a new musical instrument or engage with our region’s natural environment. It is a social space, where you can join a book club or listen to a concert. It is a safe setting for your children, where they are introduced to the joys of learning through creative, fun, and age-appropriate activities.
The Friends of the Adams Free Library is a non-profit group, created to support the Adams Free Library in its mission to provide and maintain materials and services that foster imagination and creativity, facilitate intellectual inquiry, promote healthy choices, and encourage both self-reliance and cooperation.
We, the officers of the Friends of the Adams Free Library, understand the Library’s value and,as our mission states, strive to support its staff and initiatives.
Your donation will be used to o support the purchase of Ancestry (www.ancestry.com) which helps library visitors discover and understand their genealogy. o provide additional funding for the Summer Reading Program for adults and children,o collate donated snacks, books, and other treats for Halloween goody bags.o sponsor author talks.
